Life continues in Kerala state, INDIA.
Life continues following rain havoc in our state, Kerala, southern state of India. Some of the people in few districts were affected badly, few of them lost their life and lost their house completely too.
Disaster could have been avoided if the Dams(of the 80 Dams, 35 Dams were opened) in the state were properly managed well in advance considering the torrential rainfall between 20th July — 16 Aug 2018.
Hope the relief funds that are received from various parts of the world are being used properly for the needy people. It is believed that crores that are received , if utilized properly, can be enough to rebuild the roads, houses, industries and bridges.
It can be noted that more people could have lost their lives if some of the brave fishermen had not helped the victims. Again, unsung heroes which includes the techies, telecom engineers and the common man who were on social medias like facebook and whatsApp helped to save victims by sharing and sending the contact numbers of those who were stranded in the floods to the Indian Army, Navi and Airforce , who were doing the rescue operations, had not intervened when the flood happened; the death toll(400+died) would have risen than what it was reported.
Now all the people irrespective of their religion, politics, rich or poor have been taking part in the rebuilding and cleaning process to make their homes back into their original form though damages are many especially for their valuable items and pets.
Ernakulam/Kochi city were less affected though there were power failure as our parking areas were flooded alongwith the Power rooms. Flood Survivors, are gradually recovering from the trauma of Floods coming back to normal life.
Last but not the least, for all those innocent victims who lost their life in #KeralaFloods and to those who lost their life during rescue operations; may their soul rest in peace!!!
